Last weekend saw the running of one of HuRTS favourite events; the Huskisson Triathlon. The event is well known for its long course tri – 2k swim, 85k bike and 20k run however Elite Energy organise an excellent triathlon festival over two days that offers: kids tris; beginner tris; a sprint tri and 5k & 10k running races. The small, friendly atmosphere of Huskisson right on the gorgeous Jervis Bay make this weekend perfect for the whole family or a getaway with a bunch of mates. Spectators are situated in the centre of the course allowing excellent viewing of all disciplines and small kids have a park to play in or the beach if they get bored.
The long course was won by Hawaii Ironman runner-up 2011 Pete Jacobs and featured some typically strong results from the HuRTs contingent with HuRTs “Hardman” JC finishing 19th overall and winning his age group. Enda was a few short minutes behind, punching out a great run leg of 78 minutes, and Jason Ibrahim also finishing well up the strong field.
