Hardly a month goes by without yet another jaw-dropping performance from Laura James. As if last month’s win at the Sydney Half Marathon wasn’t enough for Laura, it actually just turned out to be just a training run for the main event in melbourne where Laura ran amazingly consistent splits to smash all predictions with a 2:47:16 – Great stuff!
Laura’s performance only slightly overshadowed her good friend Eleanor Rau (Elle) who ran her first ever marathon in a scorching 3:05:39 finishing 23rd lady overall.
In the mens race, early leader John Binfield surrendered to the ageless Ray Wareham who put in yet another sub 2:40 performance. John Clothier also performed extremely well, putting aside a slightly disapointing Gold Coast race, to post a PB of 2:49:12.
Ray Wareham – 2:39:11 – 31st and 2nd in age group
John Binfield – 2:41:42 – 43rd
Laura James – 2:47:16 – 72nd – 7th Female
John Clothier – 2:49:12 – 79th
Eoin Reville – 2:51:29 – 96th
Russell Capstick – 2:56:46
Ben Streckeisen – 2:58:23
Frik Dreyer – 2:59:42
Elle Rau – 3:05:39 – 23rd female
Some very good results in the Half also with Sam Towill going from strength to strength, Indrajeet Aich smashing out a big PB, Anthony Biggs also running a PB. Well done guys!

Indrajeet Aich – 1:20:56
